Santa Cecilia School is a state-subsidised school belonging to Fundación Vedruna, located in Cáceres, in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, Spain. The school provides education at Primary and Secondary levels and serves a well-established educational community of 666 students and 53 teachers, committed to high-quality teaching and learning within an inclusive and values-based educational framework.
The school offers a curriculum with a strong emphasis on multilingual education, inclusion, and personal development. Spanish is the main language of instruction, while English plays a significant role both as a subject and as a vehicular language through the implementation of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in selected areas. In addition, French is introduced from the early years of Primary Education, fostering students’ plurilingual competence from an early age. Teaching and learning are supported by active, student-centred methodologies such as project-based learning, cooperative learning, and the effective integration of digital tools, with particular attention to students’ diversity and individual learning needs.
Santa Cecilia School promotes an inclusive educational approach grounded in respect, solidarity, and equal opportunities, encouraging student engagement, responsibility, and active participation. Environmental awareness and sustainable attitudes are fostered through educational activities and projects, in line with European priorities and the school’s commitment to responsible citizenship.
The school has consolidated its international dimension through sustained participation in European and international cooperation initiatives. It is the coordinating institution of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH project Our beauty-full world: European wonders and ensures the coordination of activities in cooperation with the partner organisations. The school has also implemented an Erasmus+ KA122-SCH short-term mobility project entitled “Get your passport and let’s travel together! – Let’s learn and save the environment” (01/09/2023–31/12/2024), which included student group mobility and staff job-shadowing activities focused on foreign language development, intercultural awareness, environmental sustainability, and the exchange of good practices, in cooperation with partner schools in Italy and Romania.Escribe tu texto aquí...
