Agrupamento de Escolas de Ponte de Sor (AEPS) – Portugal

The Agrupamento de Escolas de Ponte de Sor (AEPS) is a public school cluster located in Ponte de Sor, in the northern Alentejo region of Portugal. It provides education from pre-primary to upper secondary level and serves approximately 2,000 students with the support of around 200 teachers and educational staff. The school cluster is committed to inclusive, high-quality education, fostering academic achievement, personal development, active citizenship, and lifelong learning.

AEPS comprises a network of schools and kindergartens distributed across the municipality of Ponte de Sor, ensuring educational opportunities for both urban and rural communities. The cluster includes:

As an accredited Erasmus+ institution and an active Eco-School, AEPS promotes internationalisation, sustainability, digital innovation, STEM education, and intercultural dialogue. The school cluster encourages students to become responsible European citizens through participation in local, national, and international projects.

AEPS has extensive experience in Erasmus+ programmes and has participated in several European initiatives focused on environmental education, sustainability, innovation, and cultural exchange. The school currently coordinates international cooperation projects that strengthen students’ academic, social, and cultural competences while promoting inclusion, creativity, and collaboration across Europe.

The educational community values active participation in cultural, sports, scientific, and social activities, believing that international cooperation and project-based learning are essential tools for preparing young people to thrive in a global and interconnected world.
