Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. ks. Piotra Skargi in Sędziszów Małopolski:
The Piotr Skarga Sec. School in Sędziszów Malłopolski provides a stimulating education for boys and girls aged 15 - 19. It is a comprehensive, state school attended by about 350 students drawn from the local community and 45 teachers. The school favors high academic standards, supporting students of all abilities to excel in Maths and Science, Humanities, foreign languages and across a broad curriculum. Extracurricular activities offered by the school are “Euro-Point” School Club of European Education, SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE performing every year, group of scouts, charity and volunteering group etc. We encourage our learners to be independent thinkers with a broad world view. Our students are hard-working and ambitious, continue their education at universities and make degrees. At school we also teach students with special needs, they are integrated into class teams and involved in all possible projects.
Our emphasis on creativity is about developing the thinkers and innovators of the future. The school is in the process of seeking opportunity for students to expand their horizons by cooperating with other high schools in Europe. This can be achieved by being included in the Erasmus+ projects. Our School has experience in international cooperation with other European schools, the students work eagerly on various topics with foreign students: Polish-German School partnership dealing with historical projects, eTwinning projects, hosting students in the international exchange programs like AIESEC, AFS Inercultural Programs, Comenius, Erasmus+. Our school is located in a small town Sędziszów Małopolski in Subcarpathian Voivodeship - a picturesque region located in south-eastern Poland, bordering Slovakia and Ukraine. It is known for its beautiful natural landscapes, including the Bieszczady Mountains, national parks, forests, and numerous historical monuments. The region combines rich cultural heritage, traditional customs, and modern economic development. Podkarpackie is also famous for its hospitality, multicultural history, and strong educational traditions.
Through the Erasmus+ projects, like “Our Beautiful World – Wonders of Europe”, students have the opportunity to discover the cultural and natural heritage of different European countries while building friendships and promoting mutual understanding. Our region has shown solidarity and openness by welcoming many war refugees from Ukraine, giving support to families affected by the conflict and helping them become part of the local community. These experiences have strengthened our belief that European values such as peace, cooperation, respect, and empathy are more important than ever.
